In TestMonitor you can track test results from the tests that are run. Test results can be used to track the progress and outcome of your test cases and of your test runs.
- The Track > Test Cases page shows the last outcome of each test case.
- The Track > Test Runs page shows the most severe outcome of each test run.
In this chapter we discuss how you can track test results from your test runs. You can start tracking test results from your test runs by clicking Track > Test Runs in the header.
Test Runs Overview
The test runs overview provides you with a list of all test runs in your project. The test run code, name, progress, outcome, users, period, and related issues are shown for each test run.
The filter icon to the left allows you to open the filters sidebar. You can use the search field next to the filter icon to find a test run matching your filter parameters. The cog button to the right enables you to edit what columns are shown in the test runs overview.
Test Run Filters
You can use filters to find specific test runs matching your search parameters.
In the test runs overview, the filters sidebar on the left provides the following:
Shows test runs with the selected outcome(s): pass, neutral, failed, and/or blocking (visually represented by four types of icons).
Only shows test runs related to the selected test suite.
Shows test runs with the selected status: Expired, Active and/or Planned.
Only shows test runs with priority
- Test Environment
Shows test runs linked with the selected test environment.
Shows test runs assigned to one or more users.
Only shows test runs linked to the selected requirement(s).
Only shows test runs linked to the selected risk(s).
Only shows test runs linked to the selected application(s).
Only shows test runs linked to issues with the selected status(es).
Only shows test runs linked to the tags that you defined and linked to test cases via the define menu.
Only shows test runs whose outcome was updated in the selected time period.
- With / Without outcome
Shows test runs with test results.
- With Test Cases
Only shows test runs with test cases.
- With Users
Only shows test runs with users assigned to them.
- Hide viewed test results
Shows all test results or hides test results that are marked as viewed.
You can use the cog button on the top right of the filters to show or hide certain filter fields.
What is more, you can save your preference filters so you can restore your frequently used combinations at all times. Select the cog button to the left and select ‘Save Filter…’.
A pop-up will appear allowing you to set a recognizable name for your saved filter.
Choose Reset to deactivate all set filters.
Test Run Columns
Code, Name, Progress, Outcome and related Issues are the default columns shown in the test runs overview. Toggle the visibility for each column by selecting the cog button to the top right of the test runs list.
Other columns that are available for the test runs overview: Duration, Milestone, Viewed, Test cases, Period, Users and Updated.
Choose Reset to Default to revert to the initial state.
Shows the progress in completion for this test run for all assigned users combined.
Shows the most severe outcome for the test run.
Shows the issues that are related to the test run
Shows the duration of the test run
Shows the Milestone that is related to the test run.
Shows whether the test run test cases are marked as viewed or not.
- Test cases
Shows the number of test cases in the test run.
Shows the assigned users.
Shows the period in which the test run is available for the assigned testers.
Shows the latest date a test result of the test run is updated.
