Requirements define the needs of the project’s stakeholders. They are used during testing to validate that what has been built, matches the business objectives of the project. You can start defining requirements by clicking Define > Requirements in the header.
Using requirements is common practice in developing and implementing software. Any project will benefit from clear, well-defined requirements. Learn more about requirements in TestMonitor and improve on quality assurance.
The requirements overview provides you with a list of defined requirements for the active project. The name, type, and the number of linked test cases are shown for each requirement. The filter icon to the left allows you to open the filters sidebar. You can use the search field next to the filter icon to find a requirement matching your search parameters. The cog button to the right enables you to edit what columns are shown in the requirement overview.
You can use filters to find specific requirements matching your search parameters.
The filters sidebar on the left provides the following:
The type of requirement.
Show requirements marked with a specific tag.
Show requirements that have been updated in a specific time frame.
- Trashed Requirements
Show only the trashed requirements.
You can use the cog button on the top right of the filters to show or hide certain filter fields. What is more, you can save your preference filters so you can restore your frequently used combinations at all times. Select the cog button to the left and select ‘Save Filter…’.
A pop-up will appear where you can set a recognizable name for your saved filter.
Choose Reset to deactivate all set filters.
Use multiple filters to combine several criteria like Type and Tags.
