Learn how to cancel your account and what that entails for your data and billing.
We don’t want to see you go, but there might come a time where you find yourself no longer needing TestMonitor and you’ll want to cancel your account. In this article, we’ll address some of the questions you might have about cancelling your account, such as what happens with your data and our refund policy. We recommend you read through those questions and answers before cancelling your account.
A few notes in advance
- Trial users don't have to do anything. You can continue using your trial account until the end of the trial period. After this period your data will be deleted according to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) law. If you subscribe during the trial period, you can retain all of your data and continue working with TestMonitor.
- Only an admin user can change or cancel an account. If you are not an admin user, reach out to them for assistance. If your admin is no longer available, or you require assistance you can reach out to our support team.
How to cancel your account
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Head over to the settings page of your environment, and from the left menu choose Billing to find your subscription overview page.
Here you can cancel your subscription with the following steps:
- Click the Cancel subscription button.
- Click the button to Confirm your choice. You will receive a confirmation that the subscription is cancelled.
Once you cancel your subscription, you will be directed to the Billing overview page where your subscription end date will be displayed. When you’ve cancelled your subscription, it will remain active until the next billing cycle. During this grace period, you can resume your subscription by clicking the Resume button. No harm done!
After the grace period has passed, your subscription will end. You can re-subscribe while your account remains available. Just create a new subscription by hitting the Subscribe button.

What happens to my data if I cancel?
Until the end of your grace period your environment, including your data, will remain available. After the subscription is definitely cancelled, your data will be deleted according to the GDPR law.
Can I request a refund?
Subscriptions are monthly or yearly based. Customers must cancel their subscription prior to the end of their billing cycle to avoid being charged again. Your billing cycle date can be found by going to Manage Subscription under the billing overview.
Unfortunately, we will not provide a refund if you forget to cancel your subscription before the end of your billing cycle and no refunds are given for cancellation before the original expiration date.
When you choose to cancel your plan, your next billing interval date will become the end date for your account. For example, if you paid for a year subscription to end in December of that year, your plan will be cancelled on that date in December. In the meantime, your environment will remain available with all its data during this grace period.
How can I unsubscribe from Emails?
Sometimes after you cancel your TestMonitor account, you’re still subscribed to email lists. You can easily unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of those emails. This should prevent you from receiving any future emails from us.
